Before you play

• Game money only. Stakes and wins are naira inside the game. They cannot be bought, cashed out or exchanged for anything real (see the terms).
• 18+ notice. The first time you open Jara Bets or walk into the casino, a notice asks you to confirm. Tap I'm 18 or older to go on, or Not for me to leave: the app goes back to the home screen and the casino back to the map. You can come back any time. The answer is remembered on that device, for both.
• New accounts wait. Your account must be 24 hours old before you can stake anything. Until then you see "Jara Bets opens for you in" and the hours left.
• Spendable money only. Stakes come from your Spendable money (wages, gigs, business payouts). The Welcome fund, goal prizes and money friends send you cannot be staked; if that is all you have, the game says "Only money you earned can be staked, not your welcome fund."
• The odds favour the house. Every game here pays back less than you stake on average. Treat it as a night out, not a way to earn.

Limits

Both Jara Bets and the casino show Staked today against the ₦50,000 limit. A stake that would pass it is refused with "More tomorrow." Losses do not give the limit back: it counts what you staked, not what you lost.

Tonight's matches

Every day brings a new slate of 6 matches between 12 invented local clubs. The slate is the same for every player, so you can argue about it with friends. Each match has Home, Draw and Away odds.

1. Open Phone → Jara Bets and stay on the Tonight tab.
2. Tap a result to add it to your slip. Pick up to 4 matches; tap it again to take it off.
3. Choose a stake. The slip shows the combined odds and what it Pays if every pick wins.
4. Tap Place bet. The stake leaves your Spendable money at once.

Your slips are under My bets: Waiting until the results, then Won with the amount, or Lost. A win pays into your Spendable money and shows in the Bank's history.

How the odds work

Each club has a hidden strength, and the home side gets a small edge. The odds come from those chances with the bookmaker's 8% margin built in, so they are a little shorter than fair. Two equally strong sides would be priced Home 2.18, Draw 3.52, Away 2.97. Across all the clubs, odds run from 1.36 for a big favourite to 7.20 for a big outsider, and a draw from 3.31 to 4.90.

A win pays your stake times the odds. In a slip with more than one match the odds multiply, but all of them must win, and the margin multiplies too:

Averages over many slips, before the ₦500,000 cap. A single match keeps about 7.4%; 4 matches keep about 26.5%. At the top stake, slip odds above 25 hit the cap, so the extra odds pay nothing more.

Ludo Dice

In Phone → Jara Bets → Ludo Dice, or at the dice table in the casino, it is the same game. Pick a number from 1 to 6, choose a stake, and tap Roll. If the die shows your number you get back 5× your stake; otherwise the stake is gone. One roll every 10 seconds, at any hour on the phone.

The right number comes up 1 time in 6, and a win pays 5×, so over many rolls the dice keep 16.7% of what you stake. No number is luckier than another.

The wheel

The wheel has 13 slots: 0 is green, and 1 to 12 alternate red (odd) and black (even). Bet on a colour or a number, choose a stake, and tap Spin. You can only spin in person, while the casino is open; from anywhere else the game says the wheel turns at the casino from 6 PM.

"Pays back" includes your stake. Averages hold over many plays; any one night can be well above or below.

Big wins and the ticker

A win of ₦10,000 or more at the wheel or the casino's dice table shows in the casino's panel for 24 hours, with your @name, for everyone there to see. Dice rolled on the phone stay private.

The VIP lounge

Open to players worth ₦1,000,000 or more, going by Net worth in Phone → Bank. Below that, its actions show how far you are. It is a place to be seen, not a better table: there is no betting in the lounge.

Other small bets around town

These sit outside Jara Bets: no 18+ notice, and they do not count towards the daily limit.

• ₦300 Friendly Wager at Baba Tee's Viewing Centre: you pay ₦300 for the fun of it. It raises Fun and Social; there is no prize.
• Play Baba Draughts (₦200) at Mama Put’s Beer Parlour: a ₦200 game that pays ₦320 if you win. Your chance starts at 35% and grows with Hustle to 60% at level 9. Even then a ₦100 stake brings back about ₦96 on average.

Common mistakes

• Staking money you need for rent or food. Bets come out of the same Spendable money.
• Chasing losses: the next roll has the same odds as the last one, and the daily limit stays where it is.
• Stacking 4 matches into one slip for the big number: the bookmaker's share grows with every match.
• Placing a slip after 6 PM: betting has closed until the new slate at midnight.
• Thinking a number on the wheel is better value than a colour. Every wheel bet keeps the same share.
• Expecting to cash out. It is game money, all of it.
