Every crime action
Crime actions sit among the normal actions in a few places, with a 🚨 line on the card saying your chance to get away. The chance starts at the action's base and goes up 3% for each level of its skill, between 10% and 90%. The fine and cell term below are for a clean record.
| Crime | Skill | Get away | Take | Fine | Cell |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 🏃🏾 Jump Off Without Paying Pen Cinema Bus Stop · Danfo park · Always open | Fitness | 65%–90% | ₦2,500 | ₦2,000 | 20 min |
| 🫳🏾 Pick a Pocket in the Crowd Pen Cinema Bus Stop · Snack kiosks · Always open | Hustle | 45%–75% | ₦5,000 | ₦4,000 | 40 min |
| 🎟️ Sell Lifted VIP Wristbands Agege Stadium · Big men row · 6 AM – 10 PM | Hustle | 50%–80% | ₦6,000 | ₦4,000 | 40 min |
| 🧴 Sell "Original" Perfume Agege Market · Cloth sellers row · 6 AM – 8 PM · needs Charisma 2 | Charisma | 50%–80% | ₦7,500 | ₦4,000 | 40 min |
| 📱 Lift a Phone from a Gold Table The Vault · Gold tables · 10 PM – 5 AM · needs Hustle 3 | Hustle | 35%–65% | ₦15,000 | ₦6,000 | 60 min |
"Get away" runs from skill level 0 to level 10. When you get away, the action runs like any other and the take lands in your Spendable money when it finishes.
Is it worth it?
Not by much. With no skill and a clean record, paying the fine every time you are caught, each try averages:
- 🏃🏾 Jump Off Without Paying: about ₦930 a try (65% of ₦2,500, against ₦2,000 when caught).
- 🫳🏾 Pick a Pocket in the Crowd: about ₦50 a try (45% of ₦5,000, against ₦4,000 when caught).
- 🎟️ Sell Lifted VIP Wristbands: about ₦1,000 a try (50% of ₦6,000, against ₦4,000 when caught).
- 🧴 Sell "Original" Perfume: about ₦1,750 a try (50% of ₦7,500, against ₦4,000 when caught).
- 📱 Lift a Phone from a Gold Table: about ₦1,350 a try (35% of ₦15,000, against ₦6,000 when caught).
Those averages shrink with every conviction, because the fine grows and the take does not. The Pick a Pocket in the Crowd barely breaks even from the start. Skill helps the odds, but a steady job or a business pays more over a week, and costs nothing when it goes wrong. See jobs and skills and businesses.
Who can do crime, and how often
- New characters wait a day. For the first 24 hours the card says "New in town — from tomorrow".
- 10 risky moves a Lagos day, caught or not. The Police app counts them under Risky today.
- One case at a time. While you are under arrest, waiting for court or in the cell, crime cards say "Settle your case first" or "Court date … — lie low".
- Not on a shift. Clock out first.
- Some need a skill level, shown on the card (for example "Needs Hustle 3").
Caught: the three choices
When the roll goes against you, a Caught! 🚓 sheet opens with the reason. Until you choose, you cannot travel, start actions or work. You can close the sheet and choose later in Phone → Police, but nothing moves until you do.
💸 Pay the fine
Pay at once and walk away. It counts as a conviction, so the next fine is bigger. Your Welcome fund pays first, then your Spendable money; if you are short, the button says by how much.
⚖️ Go to court
Free until the hearing, which is set for you. You might walk free with a clean record. Guilty costs a fine of 60% of the arrest fine, so court is the cheaper bet if you can stand the wait.
⛓️ Take the time
Straight to Agege Police Cell for a term in real minutes. It costs nothing, but it is a conviction too. Good when you have no money.
Your record
Phone → Police shows your Arrests, your Convictions and every case with its date, place and status. Each prior conviction raises the next fine and cell term by 50% of the base. A conviction older than 30 days counts half. Fines stop rising at ₦50,000 and terms at 120 minutes.
| Crime | Clean record | 1 prior | 2 prior | 4 prior |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 🏃🏾 Jump Off Without Paying | ₦2,000 20 min | ₦3,000 30 min | ₦4,000 40 min | ₦6,000 60 min |
| 🫳🏾 Pick a Pocket in the Crowd and others like it | ₦4,000 40 min | ₦6,000 60 min | ₦8,000 80 min | ₦12,000 120 min |
| 📱 Lift a Phone from a Gold Table and others like it | ₦6,000 60 min | ₦9,000 90 min | ₦12,000 120 min | ₦18,000 120 min |
The police station
Agege Police Division is in Agege, north of the railway, and never closes. Its zones: 👮🏾 Charge counter, 📌 Notice board, 🚪 Interview room, 🪑 The long bench.
- Charge counter: file a complaint or ask the desk sergeant (both free, good for Social), and Visit the cells to see who is inside.
- Notice board: the city's next court dates, and a free community safety talk.
- Interview room and the long bench: free things to do while you wait, and pure water from the hawker.
Court and lawyers
Choose Go to court and your hearing is set for the next whole hour at least 2 hours away, between 9 AM and 3 PM on a weekday. You are free until then. Agege Magistrate Court is open 8 AM – 5 PM, Mon–Fri.
Without a lawyer you have a 20% chance of walking free. Hire one in Phone → Police (tap Hire a lawyer on your case) or in the court's Chambers. One lawyer per case, before the hearing starts, and the fee is never refunded, win or lose.
| Lawyer | Fee | Walk free | If you are in court |
|---|---|---|---|
| No lawyer | ₦0 | 20% | 25% |
| Barr. Kunle Ajayi Just called to the bar | ₦3,000 | 35% | 40% |
| Barr. Funmilayo Eze Sharp, and never late | ₦15,000 | 55% | 60% |
| Chief Okonkwo, SAN Senior Advocate | ₦60,000 | 75% | 80% |
For petty cases the fine is small: Barr. Kunle Ajayi at ₦3,000 is often all that makes sense, and Chief Okonkwo, SAN at ₦60,000 is only worth it when your record has made the fine large. Compare the fee with the fine on your case first.
The verdict
- It comes at the hearing time, whether you are online, offline or in the Courtroom. A toast and the Police app tell you the result.
- Being there helps. Standing in the Courtroom at that moment adds 5% to your chance.
- Not guilty: case closed, nothing on your record.
- Guilty: a fine of 60% of the arrest fine, taken from your money. If you cannot cover it all, the court takes what you have and you serve a cell term for the rest. If you are on a shift at that moment, it takes what you have and there is no cell term.
- Changed your mind? While you wait, you can pay the full arrest fine at the court's Registry and close the case.
Serving a cell term
Agege Police Cell is a small building behind the station. You only arrive there by taking the time, by a guilty verdict you could not pay, or as a visitor through the station's counter. While held you cannot travel, work a shift or do things outside the cell, and your needs keep falling. Your phone still works.
- Sweep the Cell takes 2 minutes off each time, up to a third of the term.
- Sleep on the Bench gives a little Energy, and Gist with Your Cellmates gives Social.
- The term ends on its own; the HUD shows when you are out.
Bail
Tap Bail me out to pay ₦250 for each minute still to serve and walk out past the counter. It is full price at the start, half at halfway and only ₦250 in the last minute. For a clean record:
| Tier | Term | Sweeping saves | Bail at start | Bail at halfway | The fine was |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 🏃🏾 Tier 1 | 20 min | up to 6 min | ₦5,000 | ₦2,500 | ₦2,000 |
| 🫳🏾 Tier 2 | 40 min | up to 13 min | ₦10,000 | ₦5,000 | ₦4,000 |
| 📱 Tier 3 | 60 min | up to 20 min | ₦15,000 | ₦7,500 | ₦6,000 |
Bail at the start costs more than the fine you turned down, so if you have the money, paying the fine at arrest is the cheaper way out.
Escape
Try the back wall once per term. The chance is 25%, plus 2% per Fitness level (up to 45% at level 10).
- Away: you run all the way home, but a new case opens, "Escaping custody", one tier up with a fine 50% higher and its own court date.
- Caught at the gate: half the term again, bail 50% dearer, and no second try.
Even a clean escape swaps a short term for a bigger case. Most of the time, sweeping and waiting, or bail near the end, costs less.
Visiting
Anyone can go to Agege Police Division, tap Visit the cells at the Charge counter and see who is inside. At the visiting window you can Talk Through the Bars or Pass a Plate Through the Window to a friend.
Robbing other players
On another real player's card in a place, a 🥷 Rob @name button shows your chance, or why you can't. The chance is 35%, plus 3% per level of your Hustle, minus 3% per level of their Fitness, between 10% and 70%.
- Success: you take 10% of their Spendable money, at most ₦20,000 (for example ₦5,000 from someone holding ₦50,000). It lands in your Welcome fund: you can spend it, never send it on.
- Failure: you are arrested on the spot for "Robbing a player" (a ₦4,000 fine on a clean record) and get the same three choices. They see the attempt was stopped.
The limits
- Both characters must be at least 7 days old and in the same place.
- Never at home, on a shift, at Orile-Agege General Hospital or Agege Police Cell.
- 3 tries a Lagos day, never the same person twice in 7 days, and nobody is robbed more than once a day.
- Not while you have an open case.
- Players who share a network (the same home Wi-Fi, for example) can't rob each other.
If you are robbed
A toast tells you where and by whom. In Phone → Police, the Robbed list shows each robbery from the last week. Tap Tell the police within 24 hours.
- A patrol goes looking at the next quarter hour, and catches the robber 50% of the time.
- Caught: the money comes back to your Spendable money, and the robber gets a court date. If they spent it already, what is missing is added to their fine.
- Not found: the money is gone. Your list says "Reported · not found".
Only Spendable money you carry can be taken, and only ₦20,000 at most. Your Welcome fund, money in a fixed deposit, your home, businesses and things are never touched. Training Fitness lowers every robber's chance against you.
Raids: big-money checks
Every hour the game checks whether anyone's earned money grew far beyond what a day of play could explain. If it grew by more than 3 times that in the last 24 hours, a Knock knock 🚨 screen says officers of the Agege Financial Crimes Unit (a fictional agency) are at your door. It then shows what they checked, what they seized and what was left.
- Only earned money above what play explains is seized, at most 80% of your Spendable money.
- Your Welcome fund, home, businesses and things are never touched.
- Money with a known source does not count: money sent by friends, loans, business and car sales, deposits paid back, refunds.
- No court and no cell. It shows as a case in the Police app and a line in the Bank. If it was a mistake, staff can return it.
For a player with no job and no business, that line sits at more than ₦3,775,200 of new earned money in a day. Honest play never gets near it.
How to stay out of trouble
- Don't do crime actions. Nothing in the game needs them.
- If you do, try only what you can pay the fine for, and stop after one conviction: the next fine is bigger.
- Keep the money you carry low when you are out in town at busy places; robbing takes 10% of it.
- Report every robbery straight away; the patrol only follows up for 24 hours.
Common mistakes
- Hiring Chief Okonkwo, SAN for a case whose fine is a fraction of the ₦60,000 fee.
- Taking the time and then paying full bail, which costs more than the fine would have.
- Trying the back wall early and getting half the term added.
- Ignoring the arrest sheet and wondering why you can't travel or work.
- Forgetting a court date while carrying little money: a guilty verdict you can't pay becomes a cell term.
- Leaving it more than 24 hours to report a robbery.
Find Agege Police Division, Agege Magistrate Court and every other place in places and travel, keep your money planned in money and your budget, and see how to meet other players in friends and multiplayer.
Questions
What happens if I get caught doing a crime in Agege Life?
You are arrested on the spot and cannot move or do anything else until you choose: pay the fine, go to court, or take the time in the cell. A first Jump Off Without Paying costs a ₦2,000 fine or a 20-minute term at Agege Police Cell.
Should I pay the fine, go to court or take the time?
Pay the fine if you can spare it and want it over. Go to court for a 20% chance of a clean record, or more with a lawyer; guilty there costs 60% of the arrest fine. Take the time if you have no money: it is free but goes on your record.
How do I get out of the cell early?
Pay bail (₦250 for each minute left, so it gets cheaper as time passes), sweep the cell to take up to a third off the term, or try the back wall once (25% chance, more with Fitness). A failed escape adds half the term again.
Do I need to be at the court for my hearing?
No. The verdict is given at the hearing time whether you are there or offline. Standing in the Courtroom of Agege Magistrate Court when it happens adds 5% to your chance of walking free.
Can other players rob me?
Yes, once your character is 7 days old, but only out in town: never at home, on a shift, in hospital or in the cell. A robbery takes 10% of your Spendable money, at most ₦20,000, and you can be robbed at most once a day. Your Welcome fund is never taken.
Does a criminal record go away?
Not completely. Each conviction makes the next fine and cell term bigger. After 30 days it counts half. A not-guilty verdict leaves nothing on your record.
Why did officers seize my money?
That was a big-money check. It happens only when the money you earned in a day grows far past what play could explain. Only that extra money is taken, at most 80% of your Spendable money. It is not a conviction, and staff can return it if it was a mistake.
