The billboards
The 24 billboards stand between the houses, along the north and west edges of town and by the expressway. Each has a number, from Billboard 1 to Billboard 24. A booked billboard shows the player's poster, glowing and ringed with blinking bulbs so you can spot it from across the map. A free one shows the city's own posters.
Tap any billboard on the map to open its card. A booked one shows the poster large, who put it up ("By @name", or "Your ad"), the days left, Report this ad and a button to where the ad leads. A free one says "Free to book" with a Book this billboard · ₦1,500 button, which opens the ad maker with that billboard already picked.
Booking an ad
Open Phone → Adverts and tap 📢 New ad · ₦1,500. It is one screen in three steps:
- Pick a billboard. All 24 are listed by number, each marked Free or Taken; the one you pick shows its area below. A billboard holds one ad at a time, and there is no queue.
- Make the poster. Write the text and choose a layout, colours and an icon (see below). The preview is exactly what the map will show.
- When someone taps it. Choose where the ad leads (see below). The line under the choice shows what the button will say.
Then tap Book · ₦1,500 for 7 days. The money leaves at once, your Welcome fund first, then your Spendable money. A toast says "Your ad is up on Billboard N", and the screen switches to the Mine tab.
If someone else books the same billboard a second before you, the game says "Someone just booked that billboard. Pick another one." and you pay nothing.
Designing the poster
A poster is made from text and a few choices. There are no picture uploads.

The text goes through the same filter as chat: web addresses, phone numbers and other contact details written in the text are refused, as are scams, sexual content and hate. Blocked text is never saved, and the game tells you why. To send people to a website, use the link option instead.
Players see the poster from the map camera. A short headline in a bold colour set reads better than a full second line.
Where an ad leads

On your own ad, the chat and visit buttons say "This is your own ad".
Link rules
- It must start with
https://and be at most 200 characters. - It needs a real website name: no bare number addresses and no name or password inside the link.
- No short links (bit.ly, tinyurl.com, t.co, goo.gl, is.gd, ow.ly, cutt.ly, rb.gy, shorturl.at and tiny.cc): write out the full address.
- No look-alikes of the game's own website.
A link ad is checked by staff before it goes up. The toast says "Sent for a quick check", the ad shows Waiting for review in Mine, and it already holds its billboard. Its 7 days start when it is approved. If it is refused, it shows Not approved · refunded and the whole price comes back.
On now and Mine
The Adverts app has two tabs under the New ad button.
On now
Every ad up in the city, newest first, with its poster, headline, @name, billboard and days left. Tap one and the phone closes, the map moves to that billboard and its card opens. The list refreshes about every 60 seconds while it is open.
Mine
Your ads with their status (Live · N days left, Waiting for review, Ended, Not approved · refunded or Taken down), the billboard and how many players tapped them. Tap a live one to see it on the map.
A tap counts when another player presses your ad's button on its card: once per player, per day, Lagos time. Opening the card alone does not count, and neither do your own taps. Only you can see your count.
Reports and take-downs
On someone else's ad, tap 🚩 Report this ad on its card and pick a reason. The ad's text and link go to the moderators with your report. Reporting the same ad twice says "Already reported".

Staff can take any ad down. It disappears for everyone at once and shows Taken down in Mine. There is no refund for a take-down.
If 3 of your ads are taken down within 30 days, you cannot book again until the oldest of them is 30 days old. Mine shows the date booking opens again.
Ended, refused and taken-down ads are kept for 30 days in case of reports, then deleted.
When an ad ends
After 7 days the ad comes down from the map by itself and shows Ended in Mine. You cannot extend it: the billboard is free again for anyone, so book it again quickly if you want to keep your spot.
Common mistakes
- Writing a phone number or web address in the headline: it is refused. Use the Chat or Link option instead.
- Using a short link: write out the full https:// address.
- Expecting a link ad to go up at once: it waits for a check, and its days only start when approved.
- Choosing My home before you have moved in: rent a place first.
- Spending the money you need for rent: an ad pays nothing back by itself.
- Posting anything that gets reported and taken down: no refund, and 3 take-downs close booking.
Earn the price with businesses, invite people round using friends and other players, find a place to point at in places and getting around, and fit the price into your budget.
Questions
How much does a billboard ad cost in Agege Life?
₦1,500 of game money for 7 days. It is paid the moment you book, and the price on the Book button is always the current one.
Can I pay real money for an ad?
No. Billboards are booked only with the naira you earn in the game.
Why can’t I book a billboard?
Tap Book and it tells you why: your account is less than 24 hours old, you already have 2 ads up or waiting, the billboard is taken, a field is empty, you are short of money, or booking is closed after take-downs. Now and then booking is paused for everyone, and the game says so.
Can I extend my ad?
No. An ad runs 7 days and then comes down by itself. The billboard is then free for anyone, you included, to book again.
Why is my ad not on the map?
An ad with a link waits until staff have checked it; its days start when it is approved. If it is refused, you get the full price back. Ads without a link go up at once.
Who can see how many taps my ad got?
Only you, in Phone → Adverts → Mine. Each player counts once per day, and your own taps never count.
Do I get my money back if my ad is taken down?
No. Only a link that staff refuse before the ad goes up is refunded. An ad taken down for breaking the rules is not.
