"Showroom" is the price when you buy standing in Iroko Motors while it is open. Fuel is what one trip costs: "near" is a place on your side of the railway, "far" is across it. "Trip" is how long a drive takes, near or far; "Serviced" is the same while the car runs well after a service.
| Car | Price | Showroom | Fuel near | Fuel far | Trip | Serviced | Service | Sells for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 🚗 Tokunbo Hatch Fairly used, freshly sprayed, and it starts on the first try most mornings. | ₦650,000 | ₦630,000 | ₦250 | ₦400 | 2s | 1s | ₦4,000 | ₦357,500 |
| 🚘 Sunrise Cruiser A family saloon with cold AC and a boot that takes a whole market run. | ₦1,900,000 | ₦1,843,000 | ₦300 | ₦500 | 1.8s | 0.9s | ₦6,000 | ₦1,045,000 |
| 🚐 Yellow Roof Bus Seven seats, sliding door, and every cousin suddenly needs a lift. | ₦3,800,000 | ₦3,686,000 | ₦450 | ₦700 | 1.6s | 0.8s | ₦9,000 | ₦2,090,000 |
| 🚙 Iroko SUV High seats, big tyres, and potholes become a rumour. | ₦9,500,000 | ₦9,215,000 | ₦600 | ₦900 | 1.4s | 0.7s | ₦15,000 | ₦5,225,000 |
| 🏎️ Lagoon Coupé Two doors, low roof, and heads turn at every junction. | ₦28,000,000 | ₦27,160,000 | ₦700 | ₦1,000 | 1.2s | 0.6s | ₦30,000 | ₦15,400,000 |
| 🚘 Oba Limousine Long enough for a whole entourage. Owambe arrivals were made for this. | ₦85,000,000 | ₦82,450,000 | ₦1,200 | ₦1,600 | 1s | 0.5s | ₦60,000 | ₦46,750,000 |
A dearer car is quicker: a trip in the Oba Limousine takes 1s where the Tokunbo Hatch takes 2s. It also costs more fuel and more to service. A service speeds every car up, though no trip gets quicker than 0.5 seconds. You can own one of each model.
Buying a car
From your phone
- Open Phone → Motors. The car at the top turns as you drag it; tap any car in For sale to look at it.
- Tap the car's price. The confirm screen shows the price and the fuel a trip will cost.
- Tap Buy it. The car goes into Your garage, and your first car is the one you drive.
You can own one of each model. A model already in your garage shows Owned instead of its price, in Motors and at Iroko Motors.
At Iroko Motors
Iroko Motors is in Ogba, open 9 AM – 7 PM, Mon–Sat. Tap See it at Iroko Motors in Motors to find it on the map. Inside, buy from Under the lights (pick a car, look round it, tap Buy the …) or from the Signing table, which lists every car. Either way you pay 3% less. Motors also shows the showroom price while you stand there.
Cars are paid from your Spendable money, the money you earned (Phone → Bank shows it). Your Welcome fund cannot buy a car. When you are short, the button says how much more you need.
The saving at the showroom is biggest on the dear cars: ₦20,000 on the Tokunbo Hatch, ₦57,000 on the Sunrise Cruiser, ₦114,000 on the Yellow Roof Bus, ₦285,000 on the Iroko SUV, ₦840,000 on the Lagoon Coupé, ₦2,550,000 on the Oba Limousine. Buying in person is always worth the trip if you are near Ogba.
Driving: what a car does
Owning a car adds My car to Getting there on every place's card, at the top of the list. It shows your car's name and the fuel for that trip. The time depends on the car you drive: see the Trip column above. The game remembers the last way you travelled, so after one trip by car it stays picked.
| Ride | Near | Far | Time near | Time far |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 🚗 My car | ₦250–₦1,200 | ₦400–₦1,600 | 1–2s | 1–2s |
| 🚶🏾 Walk | Free | Free | 12s | 20s |
| 🛺 Keke | ₦100 | ₦200 | 3s | 4s |
| 🚐 Danfo | ₦100 | ₦200 | 3s | 4s |
| 🏍️ Okada | ₦400 | ₦500 | 2s | 3s |
| 🚕 Taxi | ₦800 | ₦900 | 3s | 3s |
Against a taxi (₦800 near, ₦900 far), even the Tokunbo Hatch saves ₦550 a near trip and ₦500 a far one. Fuel is paid like a fare: from your Welcome fund first, then your Spendable money.
- Which car you drive: with more than one, tap Drive next to a car in Your garage. The one you drive has a Driving badge.
- Showing it off: other players see "Drives a …" on your person card, and "parked outside" while you are at a place you drove to. At open-air places your car is parked by the entrance.
Car service
The Mechanic bay at Iroko Motors services cars. A serviced car is running well for 7 days, and every trip in it takes 0.5–1 seconds instead of 1–2 seconds. Your garage in Motors shows "Running well" or "Due a service" next to each car; the bay shows the day the service runs out.
- Service each car separately. The price is in the table above, from ₦4,000 to ₦60,000.
- You must be at Iroko Motors while it is open. A car that is running well cannot be serviced again until the 7 days are up.
- Unlike the car itself, a service can be paid with your Welcome fund.
Test drives
In the Test drive zone at Iroko Motors, pick a car and tap Drive the …. Your person takes it round a loop of Ogba on the map. It is free, takes 45 seconds and gives +30 Fun.
- One test drive a day (Lagos time). After that the button says to come back tomorrow.
- Only in a car you do not own: pick a model that is not in your garage.
Garage space
Your home decides how many cars you can keep. The top of Motors shows Garage: the cars you own out of the cars your home holds.
| Home | Rent a week | Cars |
|---|---|---|
| Face-me-I-face-you · Agege Market | ₦1,900 | 1 |
| Self-contain · Dopemu | ₦4,800 | 1 |
| Mini-flat · Ogba | ₦13,600 | 1 |
| Two-bedroom flat · Ifako | ₦48,000 | 2 |
| Duplex · Omole Phase 2 | ₦280,000 | 2 |
| Mansion · Ikeja GRA | ₦1,250,000 | 3 |
With a full garage you cannot buy another car; the Buy button tells you to sell one or move somewhere bigger. Moving to a smaller home is blocked while you own more cars than it holds; the game tells you how many to sell first, so you never lose a car by moving.
Selling a car
In Phone → Motors, tap Sell next to a car in Your garage and confirm with Sell it. You get 55% of its list price straight away, even if you bought it at the showroom price. If it was the car you drove, your most recently bought car takes over.
| Car | Showroom price | Sells for | You lose |
|---|---|---|---|
| 🚗 Tokunbo Hatch | ₦630,000 | ₦357,500 | ₦272,500 |
| 🚘 Sunrise Cruiser | ₦1,843,000 | ₦1,045,000 | ₦798,000 |
| 🚐 Yellow Roof Bus | ₦3,686,000 | ₦2,090,000 | ₦1,596,000 |
| 🚙 Iroko SUV | ₦9,215,000 | ₦5,225,000 | ₦3,990,000 |
| 🏎️ Lagoon Coupé | ₦27,160,000 | ₦15,400,000 | ₦11,760,000 |
| 🚘 Oba Limousine | ₦82,450,000 | ₦46,750,000 | ₦35,700,000 |
Unlike a business, a car earns nothing, and selling loses 45% of the price. Buy the car you want to keep, not one to trade up from.
Common mistakes
- Buying from the phone when you could buy at Iroko Motors for 3% less.
- Saving up with Welcome fund money: it cannot pay for a car.
- Buying a car before the businesses that pay your rent: a car never pays you back.
- Buying a dear car to sell later: you lose 45% of the price.
- Moving to a smaller home without checking its garage first.
- Skipping the free daily test drive when you are at the showroom anyway.
Earn the money in jobs and skills and businesses, find a home with a bigger garage in homes and furniture, and compare every ride in places and travel.
Questions
How do I buy a car in Agege Life?
Open Phone → Motors, tap a car's price and confirm with Buy it. Or go to Iroko Motors in Ogba while it is open and buy it there for 3% less. Cars are paid only with money you earned, not your Welcome fund.
What is the cheapest car?
The Tokunbo Hatch at ₦650,000 (₦630,000 at the showroom). The dearest is the Oba Limousine at ₦85,000,000.
What does a car actually do?
It becomes a way to travel. "My car" shows under Getting there on every place's card: a trip takes 1–2 seconds, quicker in a dearer car, and costs only fuel. Other players also see "Drives a …" on your person card.
Can I sell my car?
Yes. In Phone → Motors, tap Sell next to it in Your garage. You get 55% of its list price at once.
How many cars can I own?
As many as your home's garage holds: 1 in the smaller homes, up to 3 in the biggest, and one of each model. To own more, move somewhere bigger.
Can I buy the same car twice?
No. You can own one of each model. A model you own shows Owned instead of its price; sell it and you can buy that model again.
Is the test drive free?
Yes. At Iroko Motors you get one test drive a day, in a car you do not own. It costs nothing and gives +30 Fun.
What does a car service do?
A service at the Iroko Motors mechanic bay makes your car run well for 7 days: every trip in it takes 0.5–1 seconds instead of 1–2 seconds.
